Welcome to my web site. I
am a professionally trained Psychologist—ten years in two different
doctoral programs. My favorite
dead psychologists are: William
S. Verplanck, Ph.D. Professor of Psychology, Emeritus, University of
Tennessee, Knoxville and George
Alexander Kelly, Ph.D. (Ohio State, Brandeis University). Because I was never able to fully
reconcile their diametrically opposing points of view about human
behavior, I became very interested in data. Fortunately for me, Jim
Goodnight, Ph.D. developed the SAS System just in time for me to
have a roller coaster ride through life. So I have happily investigated data
in every way I possibly could.
I hope you can see my excitement about data on my web
site. Oh yes, I should not
forget Edward
Tufte, Ph.D. because he showed me how to visualize the
relationships inherent in a dataset. Finally, I wish to thank Timothy Leary,
Ph.D. for teaching me how to understand others by paying close
attention to how they make me feel—especially managers. His work helped me create the
Whitehurst Managerial Style Inventory which is demonstrated on this
web site.
